What was Operation Web?

Operation web was Ukraine’s terrorist attack on various Russian air bases and bridges.

Ukraine carried out a terrorist attack on multiple Russian air bases, Olenya and Belaya Airbases, in Irkutsk. Two Russian bridges in the border region between Kursk and Bryansk were also blown up leading to at least 7 civilian casualties on June 1, 2025.

How did Ukraine pull of this terrorist attack? What was destroyed?

They used trucks loaded with FPV drones to strike the Russian airbases 4 Tu-22M3 strategic bombers and 3 TU-95 destroyed, that is 7 total. Around 117 drones were used.

Russia has 132 Strategic aircrafts, which means about 4% were destroyed from the attack.

It has 58 Tu-95, 19 Tu-160, 55 Tu-22, which can nuke any NATO city.

Why did Russia keep those bombers unprotected?

Because of the New START Treaty Requirements:

"The New START Treaty, signed in 2010 and extended through February 4, 2026, includes provisions for the verification of strategic offensive weapons, including heavy bombers equipped for nuclear armaments. The treaty mandates that these bombers be based at locations VISIBLE to national technical means (NTM) of verification, such as satellite imagery, to allow monitoring by the other party.

This implies that strategic bombers should be stationed in a way that makes them observable, typically at designated airbases, to confirm their status (e.g., whether they are nuclear-armed or converted to conventional use)."

Was Trump notified in advance of the strikes?

Yes, Trump was notified in advance of the massive drone strike on Russian bases. And he did nothing to stop them-Axios

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke earlier with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, at Russia’s request, discussing the situation in Ukraine and President Trump’s call for continued direct talks between Russia and Ukraine.

The negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul have also ended.

The negotiations initiated by Trump are officially DEAD.

Which bridges and trains were destroyed?

Ukraine carried out 4 bombings on civilian trains in Russia yesterday.

One in Kursk, 2 in Bryansk and one in Melitopol.

The explosives were placed on bridges and the perpetrators waited for the moment when the train would reach the bridge. There are at least 7 casualties, 7 in critical condition and 97 injured. There were 388 passengers on board.

The train was en route from Moscow when the explosion occurred.

The terrorists deliberately waited for the passenger train from Moscow to be under the bridge before detonating explosives at two points to cause maximum casualties.

The driver of one of the trucks from which the Ukrainian drones were launched was killed on its way to the Amur Oblast.

He was reportedly found strangled.
